Question of the Day #876

"Or you can fly on one of those tiny planes," my boss said.

"That's fine with me," I said.

"Really? I hate those things. It only takes one bad one," she said.

"Seriously? Did you just say that to me?" I asked.

We laughed.

"I'm sorry. I just don't like those things."

"If it will get me there without making two stops, I'm taking it," I said.

I just looked up the plane she booked me on. The CRJ-700 below seats 70 people.

I was suprised to see two seats on each side. Any plane that can seat two people on both side of the aisle is not that small. At least not to me.

How do you feel about flying on small planes?

Suzanne

  1. Nervous. I know a commercial pilot who says they're death traps.

  2. The CRJ-700 looks pretty big to me - any capacity over 6 will work for me - if it goes down & i'm on it, you can have my ipod!

  3. Since having kids I'm a bit more anxious about flying in general. Hey, nothing a glass of wine won't fix.

  4. There is an awesome new airline in Ontario called Porter, and they use Bombardier Aerospace Q400 turboprop aircraft. I like really like them, and choose to fly on those if I can. I REALLY dislike those big airbus type planes.

  5. I've flown in many small plains. Love it! My favorites are the seaplanes that fly between St. Thomas and St. Croix and Puerto Rico. They hold about 15 people. What a blast to take off and land on the water!

  6. About as safe as I do on a big plane.
