Question of the Day #294

With all the catering and waitressing I've been doing lately, there's an odd shift in my schedule. Like last week, on Wednesday, I cooked for Spaghetti and Meatballs Night at Sonny McLean's. Thursday night I waited tables. Friday night I waited tables. Saturday morning I cooked for the Fantasy Football Draft I catered on Sunday. Then I waited more tables during the Red Sox / Yankees afternoon game. Saturday night I cooked. Sunday morning I cooked and delivered the food.

And suddenly, Monday and Tuesday have become my weekend. (Although I did work on a writing assignment so there was some work involved - just a different type of work.)

This is totally odd. I have been a Monday - Friday girl my whole (post college) life. And right now, although I'm thankful for the work, I'm a little turned upside down.

What's got you feeling upside down?

xoxo,
Suzanne

  1. Trying to get my kids to sleep before midnight. I don't quite know when it all went so terribly wrong and we became like an episode of Nanny 911.

  2. It's getting darker earlier in the evenings and it's got me all screwed up. I keep running out of time at night.

  3. This week has been unusually busy for me...since about Saturday at 9am. I feel like I haven't spent any time with my daughter and have rarely been home. I'm exhausted and cranky...blah!!!

  4. I've been a Monday-Friday girl most of my working life too. That would be strange! I remember right after college, while trying to find a job, I was working at Payless full-time. I always hated having to go to work on Saturdays while my mom was lounging around the house! It didn't really feel like a day off when it was during the week for some reason.

  5. I've had so little actual schedule to my summer that I've been a little afraid that I would forget to go to the mother/daughter book club tonight. Being that I'm in charge of it, missing it would be a problem, so I've been reminding myself about it every day and every hour of today.

  6. 2 out of 3 of my little ones are teething. Ugh. I'm up and down all night. I'm tired and, quite honestly, a bit delirious!

  7. Now that the kids will be in school, I'll actually feel more organized! (But I missed them today!)

  8. The kids being off school for so long! We had an eleven-week summer this year due to state education budget cuts.

  10. Reality check for us here. A very close friend just dropped dead. The world we know will never be the same without that smile and those little devilish eyes. Love you, Alan

  11. My daughter starting JK in a few weeks! I'll have to get used to a new schedule. There's a list of things to buy. Not to mention trying to wrangle in my emotions -- I'm happy, nervous, and sad all at the same time.

  12. School starting -- all this week I need to get ready for that. Don't know how I'll manage.
