When standing rib roasts went on sale a couple months ago, I bought one that regularly would have been like 50 bucks for about $15, vacuum sealed it and froze it.
H and I like to gnaw on bones. Pork chops, lamb chops - any kind of chop. And prime rib is like the holy grail of bone gnawing. So we decided to save the roast for a special occasion. And after some crazy calendaring, the special occasion arrived last night.
We chose R and J as our dinner mates. There are no two funnier men. Especially when put at a dinner table together. We cackled about dating experiences, contemplated when to drop dealbreakers, discussed who's getting what and who's not, giggled through plenty of below average plans to obtain what we want and then broke into J's car.
It was very entertaining. And I think, that as a foursome, we are perfect dinner mates.
When you need to lift your spirits, who do you turn to?

Suzanne
W and S. very simple. But they never let me down:)
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend!
ReplyDeleteDoes that vacuum sealing thing work? Is it still as fresh as if it had been bought that day? Because I hate buying meat and just sticking it in the freezer. It seems like it never tastes right after that.
As far as I'm concerned, vacuum sealing is the best invention known to man. Seriously. You can buy anything on sale, seal it and freeze it and tastes incredibly fresh.

Great question but hard for me to answer. I'm not sure who I turn to. I'm a little lost right now. Ho hum.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, there are several, but one is coming to dine with our family this evening, so we're all excited!
ReplyDeleteProbably my kids, my mom or my best friend.
ReplyDeleteI turn to Tha Sooze and my Asian Sensation ... yup. That's how I roll ...
ReplyDeleteI really don't have anyone to turn to, so I turn to myself. I do believe that I am the one who a lot of people turn to and I am not being big headed. I am the happiest person I know. I hope that didn't sound bad.
ReplyDeleteIt depends -- who is near me at the time and what type of mood they're in. I usually turn to my iPod and lying in the dark listening to music. That seems to work the best for me. But my kids always make me laugh too.
ReplyDeleteLOL @ chomping on the bones. Rick loves ribs, but I'm one of those weirdos that doesn't like eating things off the bones no matter how good it is.
