Yesterday, I bought three gorgeous organic vine tomatoes. I love tomatoes. I pop cherry tomatoes like other people pop M&Ms. They're sweet and savory at the same time. But the best part is that when I hold a fresh tomato up to my nose and inhale that fresh planty-earthy scent, I smell Summer.
What smells like Summer to you?

Suzanne
Tomatoes totally smell like summer. Cucumbers too.
ReplyDeleteI'd add fresh cut grass, campfires, and skunk to the list too. :)
I love this question. My answer is slightly unorthodox. Roses...because that's the perfume my grandma wore and I spent every summer with her at our family cabin in Christina Lake, BC.
ReplyDeleteSuntan lotion, fresh cut grass, burgers on the grill & salty air.
ReplyDeleteSunscreen, a certain perfume that I switch to for the warmer months, chlorine, magnolia, lilac...mmmm, I love Summer!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely fresh cut grass. I'd also add raspberries from my parents' garden and fresh chantarelles from the woods.
ReplyDeleteLilacs (I know ... that's more spring, but it still reminds me of summer!) ... tomatoes, like you ... the smell of grilling in the air ... fresh-cut grass!
ReplyDeleteIt may sound silly, but hot asphault--whenever I smell it, I know it's going to be a hot day.
ReplyDeleteThe smell of the earth after a warm spring rain.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely suntan lotion.
Hope it comes soon!
It's summer here year long! That's sunny Malaysia:) I guess it's the smell of freshly cut grass!
ReplyDeleteThe grill and cut grass!
ReplyDeleteI eat tomatoes like that too! The smell of huckleberries make me think of summer too. Then I start craving Grape Nuts because they go great with huckleberries.
