Question of the Day #87

You know those records that define a period of your life? Soundtracks to your coming of age? Or your coming of wherever it was you went. If you had to list them, what records would make up the soundtrack of your life?

Mine, in chronological order, are:

1. Annie: The Musical

2. U2: The Joshua Tree

3. Guns and Roses: Appetite for Destruction

4. Alanis Morrisette: Jagged Little Pill

5. Sarah MacLachlan: The Freedom Sessions

After that it's all about a mix-up of iTunes. What about you?

  1. what fun!
    1. Donnie and Marie (don't remember the name but it had a purple cover)
    2. Prince: Purple Rain
    3. Stevie Nicks: Bella Donna
    4. The Doors: 13
    5. Tori Amos: Little Earthquakes
    6. Alanis: JLP / Sarah: Freedom Sessions

Right now, I'm into Pinback. No favorite album yet.

  2. Wow! Good question, but also very difficult to limit it to five. Here goes...
    1. Heart - Dreamboat Annie
    2. Cyndi Lauper - She's So Unusual
    3. Erasure - The Innocents
    4. Radiohead - The Bends
    5. The Killers - Hot Fuss

  3. Cool idea!

    1. Grease soundtrack
    2. Duran Duran Arena
    3. Def Leppard Hysteria/GnR Appetite
    4. Third Eye Bling selftitled
    5. Killers Day and Age

  4. Oops that was Third Eye Blind...not bling. My bad. :0)

  5. Well, I started with my mom's records so that would be Patience and Prudence (A Smile and A Ribbon), Sonny James (Young Love) and my personal favorite Chuck Berry (everything he sang!). After that, I remember some obsession with Fleetwood Mac's Rumors and Meatloaf's Bat Out of Hell.

  6. Great question! I tried to condense as much as possible...

    1. Kiss - Dressed to Kill (my very first album)
    2. Duran Duran - Rio
    3. Alanis Morrisette - Jagged Lttle Pill
    4. Mazzy Star - Mazzy Star
    5. Pearl Jam - Ten
    6. Stone Temple Pilots - Thank You
    7. Radio Head - The Bends/OK Computer
    8. Coldplay - Parachutes/A Rush of Blood to the Head
    9. Garden State (The movie soundtrack)
    10. The Killers - Hot Fuss
    11. Jack Johnson (The Curious George Soundtrack)
