Question of the Day #786

Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

Clearly, I'm not in LA anymore. I'm visiting my family in Vermont and last night, when I went to bed, I prayed for snow. We got a dusting, but not enough to start our snowmobiles up.

So I'm hoping for more. Because Christmas in the Green Mountains just doesn't feel like Christmas without snow.

What about you? What makes your holiday feel complete?

xoxo,
Suzanne

  2. Gorgeous photo, Suzanne! Is that where you're staying? Looks snowy enough to me!!!

Oddly enough (because it's also kind of annoying), what makes Christmas complete for me is having our kids wake us up early. Any other day, they're pretty good at sleeping in. ; )

  3. Snow, lately, but it wasn't always that way having grown up in Southern California. Here we hope for lots of snow because there are usually new snowboards/discs on the gift lists. Back in CA, I remember hoping for nice weather to ride bikes or rollerblades. LOL!

I hope you have a Merry Christmas, Suzanne. We almost moved to VT when I was younger. My mom used to take me to Smuggler's Notch and for awhile she was looking at nursing jobs near Burlington. I often wonder what my life would have turned out like had we moved.

  4. Christmas trees and wrapping presents. Lighting a fire and turning all the lights out except the Christmas tree. :-) And snow of course!

  5. Lights, Family, the kids. If you have children, it tends to be all about them....You are lucky to be in VT yearly, most people can't afford gas to get to grandma's house....

  6. Oh, that is such a gorgeous photo! Yes, I'd love some snow for sure, but it doesn't look like we're going to get any by the weekend! Enjoy your time w-family in Vermont and Merry Christmas!

  8. If you resolve to purchase a locally (ideally organically) grown tree, real is the best from an ecological (and health) perspective, hands down. Those fake trees may be convenient and cheap, but they are full of nasty chemicals that emit VOCs. Tree farms actually provide some decent habitat for a buncha animal, which is certainly more than the mall the fake tree comes from can boast. Aaaand, as mentioned before, the real trees smell amaaaazing. Balsam most specifically. Ooh, I love 'em.
