When I reached for my 472nd cookie, it was hard.
"Awww," I whined. "The chocolate chip cookies are hard."
"Put some whiskey on a slice of bread and pop it in the bag. That will soften them up," Nonna said.
"Seriously? Where did you learn that?" I asked.
"A few years ago, I put some bourbonballs in the same container as stale cookies. The next day, the cookies were soft."
"Wow. You're a genius," I said.
Nonna shrugged and said, "The best inventions are accidents."
What accidental inventions have you heard of?

I have no idea but I do have a taste for soft chocolate chip cookies now!
ReplyDeleteSleep with a bar of soap between your sheets to get rid of jumpy legs--it really works!
ReplyDeleteNone that allow me to soak my cookies in alcohol! Yum. I'm on it.
ReplyDeleteWas having a really hard time keeping the base of the shower stall from looking grungy until... someone spilled Head & Shoulders shampoo and it sat there for a day. You wouldn't believe how clean that 6 inch circle was! Unfortunately, I think they must have changed the formula a bit and it doesn't work quite as well as it used to.
ReplyDeleteI can't even think of any now ... I'm too amazed by Nonna's discovery and amused by how it came about! What a riot! (I'm having a craving for bourbonballs too!!!).
