Question of the Day #783

In LA, underground parking garages can be somewhat freaky. You know, like subways in So. Cal. There's always something a little unsettling about the idea of spending time in structures that could collapse and kill you in a quake.

But today, on the fifth and what feels like 500th day of downpour, I am psyched to park underground and take an elevator directly into a store. It makes the idea of grocery shopping and cooking loads of holiday food for my clients a lot less intimidating.

What are you unusually grateful for today?

  1. One of the most incredible skies and a great walk through the woods. Lifted me from lala land!

  2. OMG I'd LOVE to have a parking garage attached to my grocery store. Just to be able to load groceries under cover!!! What a great idea.

  3. I'm grateful to have a quiet day to get caught up on life. It's 3:30 p.m., and I'm still in my pajamas. : )

  4. Usually, I don't like rain, but since you said UNusually, I am glad its raining. Even thou it seems like 500 days long and forces you to park in odd places, the SoCal needs the aqua too.

  5. I'm grateful that the leak in my house isn't worse.

  6. I'm thankful it's almost 8pm and I am heading to bed very soon.

  7. I'm still on my diet and still losing weight. I know I'll get back to being "me" again this time.

  8. It is the 500th day. I'm looking for an Ark.
I think I know which store you found that parking garage in. ;)
I remember visiting Omaha once and being amazed that they had covered drive-up docks to collect your groceries. Then I was told that during snowstorms and such, it was practically a necessity. And in Toronto, they have whole malls underground.
I guess I'm grateful we don't need such measures most of the time.

  9. Yesterday I was grateful that my daughter didn't have to do her presentation because she wasn't ready.

I also was grateful - though maybe happy is the better word - that I ended up calling a charity with an offer to bring over new, hardback books for kids on the exact day that they needed them for their gift-giving to needy children in the community. Excellent timing, and I felt like Santa.
