While relaxing in Vermont, my family and I watched The Sound of Music and Breakfast at Tiffany's. Last night, we searched for another classic, but couldn't find one on broadcast TV.
Hurricane and Nonna wished we could see An Affair to Remember. I've never seen that movie. But between all their raving and the Gossip Girl references to it, I'm putting it at the top of my classic film to be watched list.
What classic films do you love? Which classic would you like to see?
xoxo,
Suzanne
Seen them all, but I'm a huge fan of everything with Doris Day. And I believe "Singing in the Rain" should be required viewing, too.
ReplyDeleteSome of my faves: Casablanca. Arsenic and Old Lace. My Little Chickadee.
ReplyDeleteI watched it after it was mentioned in Sleepless in Seattle. It was remade, too, wasn't it? With Annette Bening?
ReplyDeleteI caught a few minutes of The Sound of Music the other night and immediately thought of you. I turned to Tara and said, "I wonder if Sue is watching this right now" and you were! An Affair to Remember, by the way, is AG's all-time favorite movie.
ReplyDeleteAnything with Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy. I love the movies they did together. Their love story, albeit a sad one, is fascinating to me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice way to spend to holidays...snowed in with family watching classic movies. XO yo.
To Kill a Mockingbird is my favourite book and old movie. I also really like any of the "Road to..." movies with Bob Hope.
ReplyDeleteTunes of Glory. Casablanca. Breakfast at Tiffany's. The Big Easy. The Big Chill. Stalag 17. The Shawshank Redemption. Priest. Witness. Out of Africa. On the Waterfront. An Affair to Remember. The Way We Were. On the Beach. Lawrence of Arabia. Bridge on the River Kwai. Duel in the Sun. To Kill a Mockingbird. Mrs. Miniver. On the Beach. Raiders of the Lost Ark. Roman Holiday. The Quiet Man. All the Jazz. When Harry Met Sally. Mash.
ReplyDeleteMy version of classic might not be the same as everyone elses....I love comedies like National Lampoon...Please don't shun me....
ReplyDeleteWow I need to see more classics like Casablanca and Breakfast at Tiffany's. Haven't seen those yet but then again I really don't have the patience for movies. My "classics" include Tommy Boy, Anchorman, Billy Madison, and the like... don't hate me. Next big snowstorm I'm watching Casablanca and the Sound of Music OK?
ReplyDeleteNetflix has An Affair To Remember, I believe, if you get that. I've been wanting to see it as well. Other favorites are Casablanca, Singing in the Rain, It's A Wonderful Life, American in Paris, etc. Anything with Gene Kelly!
