The Question of the Day #780

My brilliant FB friend, D, posted the following:

"My vote for wimpiest and most annoying Christmas song has got to be that Paul McCartney tune where he just sings, 'simply having a wonderful Christmas time.' I don't even know the name of it but I do believe it's following me everywhere..."

That, of course, inspired me to comment, "OH! Thank you for the inspiration. I'm totally stealing your concept for the Question of the Day!"

What is your pick for wimpiest and most annoying Christmas song?

xoxo,
Suzanne

  1. Please Daddy (Dont Get Drunk on Christmas) by John Denver.
I'm just kidding. I"ve never heard it, but it's a real song!!!
I know I have a few that get on my nerves but I can't think of any right now!

  2. I'll second the vote for that stupid Paul McCartney song. It tops the list, but I also really dislike any song about broken up relationships at Christmas.

  3. Definitely the Paul McCartney one. However, Madonna's Santa Baby makes me want to stomp on puppies. I hate that one!

  5. Jingle Bell Rock. I don't know why but it drives me nuts, always has, but, horrors, now I have a neighbor who plays it over and over and sings along!!!! Argh.

  6. The dogs barking Jingle Bells make me want to scream. And considering I like "I Want a Hipopotomus for Christmas", it takes a lot to make me scream.

  9. LOL @ the dogs, Jim. I have all the Jingle Dogs and Jingle Cats music. Well, I 'used to' have it on cassette and now just have some of the songs digitally. Pat-A-Pan is my favorite.

  10. Most of the pop culture stuff is annoying. I love the large choral pieces that seem to soar with joy and enthusiasm for the season.
