Question of the Day #765

For the past week or two, LA has chilled out, big time. That means below 60 degrees during the day and hovering just above freezing at night. For us, that's seriously cold.

And it doesn't exactly have me jumping out of bed in the morning ready to rock the hill. Needless to say, my workouts have become stay-ins.

What activities does chilly weather make less appealing for you?

xoxo,
Suzanne

  1. Not much for me -- I love the cold! I grew up in SoCA and now live in MT, so it's a nice change. We have tons of snow and I've been itching to get out and do some snowshoeing and/or XC skiing.

  2. Even though I live in and love the Midwest, I can't stand the cold. I'll never be a skier, snowboarder or ice skater! I go out with my kids to build a snowman and I'm back in six minutes later. (my excuse is to make hot cocoa)

  3. Working. I hate having to slog through the snow to get to the barn, then digging through it to get the barn door open, etc. I end up soaked with sweat by the time I get back in the house because of the extra workout I get from working out in the snow.

  4. Cold is a way of life around here for at least 6-7 months of the year, so it doesn't really impede much. It's the days when it's painfully freezing (-30C and beyond) that start to make me a grumpy hermit. The fact that it gets dark so early affects me more than the cold.

  5. I can't think of too many things that the chilly weather doesn't make less appealing. But if I had to choose, I really hate washing the dishes in the cold weather. The water stays cold for sooooo long.

  6. I find I'm way more of a homebody in the winter. The early darkness and cooler weather prevents me from being as active as I'd like. But I figure that's okay, we're staying in harmony with the season. Winter is a time for going inward and nourishing yourself. Go with the flow.

  8. I'm liking the walks in the cold to the train or the bus for my commute...It was windy as hell in NY/NJ the last couple of days...
