The family I cook for is koo koo for Halloween. I'm talking ghouls hanging 20 feet from trees, skeletons that actually move and give you creepy looks, creatures in coffins and ghosts flying in front of the house.
It's cRaZy.
How do you feel about Halloween?

I LOVE Halloween. I mean, I'm not all crazy "make my own homemade far-out costumes" crazy, but I associate Halloween with the beginning of the holiday season. As a girl, I used to be absolutely tickled pink when I would come home from school and see that my mom had put up Halloween decorations. It's such a simple thing, but the impression has lasted my whole life. Go figure...
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love it! I love to dress up (but for the first time, won't this year). Love all the spooky decorations (but again, none out on the house except for a few pumpkins). And of course I love candy!
ReplyDeleteI'm scared of Halloween. And my husband is Mr. Halloween. I just wrote a post about this on my blog--it's that time of year!
ReplyDeleteLOVE Halloween. I mean, LOVE. My husband I are creating an entire graveyard scene in the front yard with moving zombies and skeletons, a fog machine, a coffin he BUILT, strobe lights, and... sigh. So much stuff. We spend more on Halloween decor than Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMy excuse is that I write thriller :-)
Halloween is INCREDIBLE! First of all, its a NON religious reason for everyone to simply be - this is good. 2nd, fun to dress up in the costumes and see all the kids get all excited about it. 3rd, in the end, there is a ton of great stuff to eat! HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO EVERYONE!!!
ReplyDeleteI was never into Halloween until I had kids. Now, I like it. Note the like is not love. I like dressing them up, picking out and carving pumpkins, going to parties and parades. I do not like dressing myself up or eating a ton of candy. I've always lacked inspiration or motivation when it comes to Halloween. Now, Christmas on the other hand...watch out!
ReplyDeleteI love fall but about Halloween I'm somewhat ambivalent.
ReplyDeleteHalloween is FUN!! Favorite all time decoration was the homemade painted painted cardboard I did to cover up part of the unfinished basement ceiling for a Halloween party when my daughter was in grade school...or so she thought that was what it was. Actually, it was a trap door to remotely release a dummy hung from a bungie cord that was stuffed between the floor joists. It was positioned right in front of the TV (think grade school girls watching scary movie).
ReplyDeleteI have a great time at halloween, handing out treats for our amazing neighbourhood kids, making my daughter's costume, and yes, dressing up myself. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat is starting to aggrevate me is the commercialism that is creeping into Halloween, and the overdone houses and stuff.
Not into it, but my kids love it...
ReplyDeleteI don't like the creepy, gross stuff, but love the 'nice' Halloween stuff ... pumpkins, orange lights, autumn-y decor.
ReplyDeleteI like Halloween as one of the few holidays where it also doesn't fall on me, the mom, to make it Happen. Put together or buy a costume, a bag of candy for the front porch (small neighborhood), and we're off for trick-or-treating. We had more festive Halloweens in past neighborhoods, but again, not on me to organize - for once.
ReplyDeleteI like it, but not "disgusting" Halloween with dismembered limbs. I like the fun of costumes and kids trick or treating and carved pumpkins.
