So last night, I watched Paranormal Activity with a couple friends. They were all freaked out, worried about being alone at home afterwards. One of them even said, "I may have to stop watching the movie if it gets too scary."
I was like, "Puhlease, ladies. What could be that scary?"
And it wasn't. Sure, I jumped a couple times. Who doesn't jump when a door slams? But overall, it was just okay. Not chill me to the bone, I'm too scared to walk to my car alone frightening.
Tis the season. So I must ask, what movie has chilled you to the bone and made you too scared to be alone?

Blair Witch freaked me out when it first came out. Also the Exorcism of Emily Rose- I never get up between 3 & 4 am any more.
ReplyDeletewhen I was a kid, Poltergeist freaked the bejesus out of me. I didn't sleep for weeks...
ReplyDelete"The Exorcist" chilled me to the bone. I am so not a scary movie person. The animated version of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" frightens me. So it's totally surprising that I was ever able to watch "The Exorcist." I saw this movie projected onto a cold cement wall in the creepy basement of a college dorm. I was so freaked out that I had to sit at a restaurant all night with a friend.
ReplyDeleteDidn't get freaked out, but laughed our heads off!!
ReplyDeleteGot sucked into "Swamp Thing". OMG! So funny. Not meant to be but it WAS!
I had never seen a scientist go into the swamp with high heels!
The only one I can think of is Arachnophobia. It came on TV one night and after a few minutes I decided it wasn't worth it - I would've had the creepy-crawlies for weeks!
ReplyDeleteThe Entity scared the piss out of me almost as much as Amityville Horror. The thought of a ghost following me and raping me is just a little unnerving. And any time I see a fly in my house I get a little spooked.
ReplyDeleteThe Entity. Ooooh...scares me to even write the name.
ReplyDeleteOOh The Exorcist and The Omen. I still can't watch either one if I'm home alone.
ReplyDeletePsycho. Full stop.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember the movie but it was a scene where this little girl says there is someone outside and when the mother looks out the window she sees these red eyes just for a second. For some reason eyes in the dark scare me. And to think I have cats.
ReplyDeleteI never saw the second half of Blair Witch Project. Too creepy. Especially for those of us who like to go camping.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a teen I watched "Dracula" on t.v. At the end he's in a chest with a silver dart through his heart. That night I slept at my sister's house, and there was a chest just like Dracula's. Didn't sleep a wink all night. The next night I slept on her couch instead of in the room with the chest.
ReplyDeleteThe Exorcist. My mom took me to see when it came out. I must have been eleven. WTF? I still shiver when I hear "Tubular Bells". Horrible, horrible movie!
