Question of the Day #338

Tucked into my computer bag is a script written by my friend Rob and his writing partner and a YA historical novel in verse written by my friend Claudia, which I meant to read over the summer.

If there's one great thing about traveling from coast to coast, it's five straight hours where I can read. No phone calls, no texts, no emails, and no work to get to. Just hours of pure reading time.

What do you like about traveling?

xoxo,
Suzanne

  1. Getting away from the day-to-day stuff is fun.

Travelling with a young child is not exactly relaxing, and I'm usually exhausted by the time I get to my destination.

However, when I travel on my own, I love the fact that I'm not reachable. I can read, sleep, contemplate life, or just slip into a comfortable comatose state - and not think anything at all. hmmm...I think I need a trip! :)

  2. Ditto on the above comment. I like not being reachable. No one to bug me. That's why I gave up my cell phone. If it is important they will find me.

  3. I agree. Kids = bad. Without kids + earplugs = oh so good.

  4. When I'm at my actual destination, I love seeing the different cultures/sub-cultures! I went to the East Coast and absolutely LOVED seeing how different daily life was for everyone! I don't like the actual task of traveling, though. The long hours on a stuffy plane or in a car sitting bother me and my body. I will never do a bus ride where everyone's chairs can recline ever again. That was the most torturous 4 hours of knee pain ever.
