Question of the Day #345

Question of the Day regular, Greg C., wrote a great post yesterday. Its about what he's thankful for in terms of life changes. I think he did a splendid job of turning negatives into positives. I especially connected with his point about being thankful for monetary setbacks and realizing that sometimes less is more.

Check out the post. What negatives have you or someone you know turned into positives lately?

  1. Since our move to the country last year, I do a lot of driving getting my daughter to/from her daycare. It can be a royal pain; how early I have to head out, and driving through snowstorms, ice, fog, torrential rains -- all the while being on the lookout for deer darting across the road.

I've learned to love that time though because almost every day, I get to see a nugget of wonder from nature whether it be a black bear crossing the road, or the most spectacular rainbows. As well, I have really enjoyed the time with my daughter. We sing, discuss the day, and share our knowledge about the world around us. My daughter is now taking the bus to school in the mornings, and I have to say, I miss our morning commute together. Which makes me cherish our time in the afternoon even more!

  2. I enjoyed Greg C.'s post. Last night when I was fixing dinner I was thinking my daughter's food allergy made me a better cook. We discovered some of our favorite dishes after being forced to read labels and change our diet.

  3. Great post Greg C. and great question Suzie C.!
I'm thankful for my complete exhaustion at the end of the day because it means I was able to spend the day taking care and loving my children. I am also thankful for the many people I miss because it means I've been blessed with a lot of special people and moments in my life.

  4. That's a tough one. For most people it's hard to turn the negative into positive. Most people I know seem content whining about how terrible everything is all the time. Off to read Greg's post -- :)
