Last night at Jenny's birthday karaoke party, Whiskey Steve got up and sang "The Monster Mash," which sent me into giggle fits. His ghoulish voice was so hilarious that I woke up laughing about it.
I'm not a big Halloween fan. Call me a party pooper. Whatevs. But the funny, goofy, Monster Mash side of Halloween is way more entertaining to me than the scary, goree stuff. I mean, at least it's funny.
Do you lean more towards the goofy Munster side or the scary monster side of Halloween?

Suzanne
I am not a fan of Halloween. Period.
ReplyDeleteI'm a total downer on Halloween. Just not a fan. Plus, I'm always too unorganized so it just stresses me out.
ReplyDeleteAnything that's not super gory or tacky is okay with me. I enjoy seeing the costumes, but for some reason I've never been able to get into decorating for Halloween.
ReplyDeleteSaw scary stuff on our roadtrip this weekend. This was not my growing/up experience, for sure. I was dressed in a pink crepepaper cinderella "gown" for at least 3 of my trick or treating years! I still remember how fun that was. No knives or ghouls or stuff like that. It was exciting enough to be out in the DARK with friends and parents to be seen! (I think they were hiding behind trees!)
ReplyDeleteHalloween is my FAVORITE holiday. I love dressing up, whether scary or goofy, and I love seeing everyone else in their costumes. I also love how friendly everyone in our neighborhood is to each other on Halloween, since it's the one night it's perfectly acceptable to go visit everyone unannounced yet expected. Not to mention the Sour Skittles.
ReplyDeleteI've never been particulary fond of Halloween but now that I have kids I suck it up and try to enjoy it. Unforunately for me my husband really likes to give out candy so I'm on my own carting two kids around in the dark on a day I don't even like. How'd I get so lucky? And I really don't like the scary stuff.
ReplyDeleteWe do not go 'Halloweeny' but enjoy it all the same when we meet others. Last year some kids in the neighborhood came trick and treating and they were excited when I invited them to my house. Others in the neighbourhood weren't so familiar.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the funny side. I don't do well with gore and scary chilling stuff.
