Question of the Day #118

Today's question is brought to you by Christian Montone. He was kind enough to write about how much he enjoys the Question of the Day on my Facebook wall yesterday. I joked back, telling him that it was 11:00 AM and that I needed a question fast!

He wrote back, "Ask people what they wear when no one is around and they are certain no one will drop by."

As I looked down at my hot pink jammie pants with red and white polka dots, my white fuzzy slippers, red thermal shirt and red hoodie and reached up to feel the frizzy knot of hair I'd piled on top of my head before bed the night before, I realized that Christian is a genius.

So what do you wear when no one is around and you're certain no one will stop by?

xoxo,
Suzanne
P.S. - Thank you Christian!

  1. Great question! When it's cold, I wear yoga pants and a hoodie or an oversize fleece that I got from work. (Actually, I'd wear that out. I'm shameless.) When it's warm, I wear boxer shorts and a tank top. It's more about the shower for me. If no one is around, and I'm certain no one will stop by, I'll put off getting into the shower for as long as I can stand the sight of myself.

  2. Today it's jammies - black watch pattern - with oversized black slippers because my feet got worked on by the dermatologist again. Not quite ready to walk barefoot, which is my preference.

  3. This time of year I wear some form of sweats/yoga pants with a t shirt and ratty sweatshirt or zip up hoddie over it. Yesterday I wore pink plaid flannel pants with a yellow t shirt and a Boston U sweatshirt (I didn't go to Boston U and don't know anyone that did, so why the sweatshirt I wonder) with TONS of holes in it. Oh and really cute pink sweater slippers that go up to mid-calf with cute pom poms on them. In the summer it's comfy gym shorts and a t shirt with flip flops. Bra always optional. :-)

  4. Only when I'm super cold, I'll pull out the most hideous pair of socks you could possibly imagine. They're a pair of wool socks I snagged from my brother from his days in Alaska. The heel is completely missing on one of them. They're soooo big I have to walk like I'm wearing clown shoes. It's a good look.

  6. Jammers. That's for sure. With a book in my hands. I wear it like clothes. Thanks for stopping by my digs. I love your questions here.

  7. Sweat pants, a man's white undershirt, hoodie sweatshirt, my thick black glasses, blemish cream, and pigtails. Sexy!

  8. Usually ratty, old sweats. I really should buy some new ones. Or if I'm feeling ESPECIALLY lazy, I'll wear a really old pair of oversized men's PJ bottoms. Those are my favorite and I'd wear them everyday if I thought I could get away with it. Fun question!

  9. Great question!

Um, my yoga pants, no bra, and a grungy shirt. And my hair is never done. No makeup either. It feels so good!

  10. All of the above in the winter and not much in the summer :) cumfy is the operative word. But you know when you are retired and living in the woods, it REALLY is nice to dress up and even put a skirt on every now and then!!! And some bling!!!

  11. I confess...I wear my maternity sweatpants...all the time. Lucy is 1. If it's cold a hoodie or my big Cape Cod sweat shirt will do. My hair is usually knotted on top of my head too and my glasses rarely leave my face. I will, however, always wear perfume.

  12. My telephone headset, which won't stay on properly unless I wear a tight-fitting headband over it to keep it snugly in place. Makes me look like I belong to a renegade strike team of telemarketers.

  13. Too funny! Normally sweats, hoodie, and a ponytail, like everyone else! Except lately, even when I think no one will drop by, someone does, or I end up having to run out at a moment's notice, so I've been swapping the sweats for jeans.

  14. You're most welcome, Suzanne! Glad I could help you with the question...
For me, as for many others, it's all about the hoodie and one of several pair of Adidas track pants. I've totally fallen into the suburban 30-something uniform. (Just don't tell Stacy London and Clinton Kelly!)

  15. I like to wear batik house clothes, because they are really comfortable. We call them "daster" here in Indonesia. If you google "daster batik" in images you can see some examples.
