Question of the Day #102

Last night, some friends and I went to see a couple honky tonk bands play in a tiny bar. The upright bass thumped, the guitarists twanged, the singers made us swoon. I howled out harmonies, danced with strangers and pretended I was married to C so the crazy lady who wanted to make me her Valentine would pick another victim.

It was the best Valentine's Day I've ever had.

What was your best?

xoxo,
Suzanne

  1. I remember when an ex of mine asked me to pretend we were together again for much the same reason.

Best V-Day ever? Or best day - period? Yesterday was a good one even though it included shopping. Found out an author I love is still writing (Sherwood Smith). In 2002, I had the opportunity to purchase her series since they brought it back from out of print. Looking her up on Amazon, I see she has several new books/series out. The book store had one copy of the first 2 books in one of the new series, but I couldn't find them. Seems they just came in and were still in the back room. Easy to get when you ask the right person. And I also found a new book by Christopher Stasheff who I haven't read in a great number of years. I remember his stuff was very funny.

    Writer's of the past rise on V-Day 2009. That's a good day.

  2. VD Day as we used to call it in the floral industry!! was always the most stressful day of the year. I have only really enjoyed it recently. Yesterday we took a 5 mile walk on snowy trails. Simply glorious!! And then went for a lovely dinner. Got roses too! This was a good one :)

  3. I got married on Valentine's Day, so I guess 1988 was my best. Sounds like you had a fun time, Suzanne. LOL @ the lady.

  4. I would have to say that this one was the best because for some reason I can't remember any of the others. I must be getting too old. Actually Valentine's Day just doesn't mean much to me. I think there were only one or two that I had a girlfriend and for the rest I was either alone or married.

Oh there was the year that I shopped at a place called "Bits of Lace" and the sales girl opened her shirt to show me what one particular lacy bra looked like. That sticks out in my memory for some reason.
