Question of the Day #796
While at the market, I spotted TIME's Person of the Year issue. I'll admit, I'm a bit fascinated by Mark Zuckerberg and the Facebook phenomenon, so I bought it. There's something magical about his perfect storm of timing, technology and creativity meeting a huge market that went crazy for his product.
Not to mention that he's pretty much just a kid.
If you were to choose The Person of the Year for 2010, who would you choose?
xoxo,
Suzanne

Hmm. Good question, but I'm afraid I don't have an answer! Maybe my grandma, since she survived a pretty gnarly car accident and is walking on a foot the doctor said she'd never be able to put weight on again. But as far as public figures go? Still not sure.
ReplyDeleteMy husband. He has overcome a plethora of challenges this year, and proves to me everyday that love is blind. :) I don't really know that much about people outside of my little sphere, but he is certainly MY man of the year! :D

Stacie S. She battled cancer and won. Lets hope that it stays away also. I would not have picked the facebook founder in a millon years.
ReplyDeleteMother Nature.
ReplyDeleteWhat Zuckerberg did was great. But folks that suffered the recession with job loss, mortgage loss ect and held onto their dignity, character and morals should get the people of the year award
ReplyDeleteI also pick my husband! He's not famous, but he landed in the ICU in June, almost died from previously undiagnosed diabetes, quit smoking, lost 40 pounds and got off insulin. It was hard work but he was a health maniac!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have picked Mark Zuckerberg. Yes, he has changed the world with Facebook and it's an amazing story but I don't think he's the person of the year. I would have picked someone that did something selfless like someone that helped a lot after a hurricane or flood or something.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what it is, but that picture of him just creeps me out. It's eerie.
ReplyDeleteI don't know who I'd have picked. I know there are an awful lot of great people in the world doing things to help others. And then there's our troops who are away from their families. That's a hard one.
I'll do what Time does sometimes and name a group as person of the year. The American soldier is my person of the year. After almost ten years, countless deployments, some of the most horrific fighting conditions known in the history of war soldiers are still re-enlisting at higher rates than when the war first started. The military has sweetened the pot a bit but we are still at war a very brutal war at that. So to fight for your country is one thing then to re-up in the middle of this kind of war...that gets my person of the year.
ReplyDeleteFor 2010 I'd have to say Lady Gaga--she seemed to be everywhere, didn't she?
