Question of the Day #743

B and H have presented a challenge. Write down 20 things you could be happy doing (to earn a living) for the rest of your life.

Twenty things? Twenty is a lot. Heck, five is a lot. So let's start with one.

Obviously, I'm a writer. I've made a living writing magazine and newspaper articles, training materials, newsletters, brochures and web copy. You name it, I can write it. I can't imagine doing anything else as a career.

But if I had to make a change, I could cook for people. I really enjoy the in-home cooking I've been doing for families. And I like preparing Suzie Foods. So I guess that's one other thing I could be happy doing for the rest of my life.

What about you? What, besides what you currently do, would you be happy doing for the rest of your life?

xoxo,
Suzanne

  1. Working in a library or a bookstore. Growing food (but not preparing it). Teaching. I think I might make a good elementary school principal.

  2. Travel Photography. Hands down - that would be my all time dream job - to travel the world and photograph the places, the people, the food, the animals you name it! Sigh

  3. Traveling. I don't get to do that much now, so I'd like to see more of the world.

  4. Good question. Sharing yoga & mind/body techniques with people. Providing emotional support/informal counseling. Being a travelling poet (if I somehow had enough talent to make a living at it). Or being a travel host on tv! Like Samantha Brown. I could definitely get down with that.

  5. I'm going to attempt the 20 (in no particular order)...interior Designer - architect - photographer - event planner - hairstylist - illustrator - set designer - personal chef - tennis instructor - travel writer - art teacher - nurse - food critic - furniture designer - fabric designer - jewelry designer - movie extra...house flipper...real estate agent...lottery winner.

  6. Being a chef but having normal working hours. Or a food stylist or having my own bakery. I think I could actually come up with 20....

  7. Oh, I could pick 20, easy. But if I had to pick one, it would be photography.

  8. Nature photography, writer and writing computer game programs. (Not necessarily in that order.)

  9. I could see myself happy working in a library, museum or theater, but I think I would always write whatever else I might be doing.

  10. Giving away millions and millions of dollars to artists and writers so they could create their passion instead of toiling in jobs they hate in order to pay the rent.
