Question of the Day #754
Last night, when I got up to go to the bathroom, I heard crazy whooshing outside. I shivered up to the window. Was it raining? No. The wind was blowing like crazy. Remember on Gilligan's Ilsand, when a "typhoon" would hit the island all the palm trees would bend over in the storm?
That's what the palm trees looked like last night.
I got back under the covers and lay there listening until the rain started slapping the roof. Then I drifted off to sleep.
What sounds do you like to sleep to?
xoxo,
Suzanne

I love listening to the rain when I'm sleeping. The wind not so much -- we have too many trees that tend to fall down. I also love the sound of my cat purring. :)
ReplyDeleteThe train. I have always lived by one and still do today
ReplyDeleteAt least you get to see palm trees every day. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI listen to nothing when I sleep. It's silent out here.
Definitely the rain. I LOVE rain. I love to write by it, sleep by it, play in it. I should live in Vancouver...
ReplyDeleteThe palm fronds rattling outside the windows in my parents' house in Florida. Reminds me of being a kid again, safe against all the bad guys in my own bedroom.
ReplyDeleteSILENCE.
ReplyDeleteThe sound of rain on the window does it for me. But the constant wind we get out here can ruin a good night's sleep for me.
ReplyDeleteIn summer, the crickets.
ReplyDeleteIn the winter, the absolute stillness of what seems to be the entire world asleep.
My favorite is the ocean.
