Question of the Day #744

As the "mmm's" and "ahh's" resounded from my client's dinner table last night, I knew my pan roasted filet mignon over sauteed onions and roasted mushrooms with scalloped potatoes and sauteed spinach with garlic was a hit.

"This is my favorite thing you've cooked so far," said the dad.

"Suzanne, these potatoes are incredible," said the cute teenage girl.

"Thank you! I'm so glad you like them." I smiled as I washed pots and pans. My otherwise low mood lifted. Funny how doing something really well can change everything.

What have you done really well lately? How did it make you feel?

xoxo,
Suzanne

  2. Since you mentioned the cooking thing, I go in that direction. I just made chicken fried steak. Huge hit with my family. It was a mess and it took forever, but I felt good about it. I'll definitely do it again.

  3. Congratulations, Green Girl! Very exciting!!!

Suzanne & Susan~Your food sounds amazing!

Me? I dunno. I guess I'm proud of myself for sticking it out and revising my manuscript so many times in a row.

  4. Umm... this sounds kinda dumb but...puzzles. I get an immense amount of satisfaction out of searching and searching and then snapping in just that right piece. When the rest of life is chaos, at least I have one bit that is a sure thing:)

  5. I helped my daughter with some difficult teen issues, and I basked in her statements of what a good mom I am.

  6. I "mediated" at a somewhat contentious meeting tonight. Suggested that we all "CALM" down. It worked! Real dialogue continued from there :)
Made me feel like I really contributed to the moment.

  7. I've been sticking with exercising everyday. Maybe that's not doing something "well", but just the fact I'm doing it makes me happy.

  8. Right now I'm making my roasted chicken with my special seasonings, pan roasted root vegetables (like you taught me) and oven baked sweet potatoes. And the whole time I'm thinking about you, so I'm so glad you posted, because I'm cooking and thinking.. how would Suzanne do this!!! You inspire me!
