Last night, I left the house I cooked at, walked out to the car and could not find my keys. I went back into the house and searched the kitchen. No keys. I searched my reusable shopping bags. No keys. The clients thought perhaps the housekeeper put the keys in the "key drawer." It held plenty of keys, but not mine.
As I retraced my steps with a flashligh, I stepped in some mud which sucked up my flip flop and slathered all over my foot. No keys in the grass or around the car. I finally concluded that my keys had to be in the trunk of my car. I must have dropped them in there when I was taking the groceries out.
So I called H. She happened to have a key to my house. She picked me up and drove me to my house where I got my spare car key. We drove back to the client's house and I opened up the car and the trunk.
No keys.
That's when I heard a voice. (No. Not that kind of voice.) It was the client saying, " Hey, Suzanne, I found your keys in the bathroom."
Good lord.
Are you one of those people who always loses their keys?
xoxo,
Suzanne

Well, I'm glad you found them! I have never truly lost my keys, but have moments where I can't find them.
ReplyDeleteMy mom has always been a panicker and yelled, "Where are my keys?" frantically and always eventually found them. When I was in fifth grade, I gave her a key chain with beavers on it with the beavers saying, "Where are my dam keys?" :)
Eeeks. Yes, been there. Once I did lock them in my trunk, so did my best friend. After that, I never put my keys in the trunk even for a sec. Another time, I put them down in a gas station bathroom and had to wait for someone to come out after I realized what I'd done. The culprit is always that we're thinking about other things and not paying attention when we put them down. I'm trying to be more aware. :)
ReplyDeleteI keep my keys on one of those cheesy metal belt clip things now, so I rarely lose them. Of course I can't sneak up on anybody anymore, though. Now if they would just invent one for my damn wallet.......
ReplyDeleteI have never lost anything
ReplyDeleteHow funny! Yeah, sometimes I find my things in the strangest places. It doesn't help that hubby sometimes borrows my keys without my realizing it. In that case, they could be ANYwhere.
ReplyDeleteOMG! I have to tell W! He is always losing something. I stick close to him so he doesn't lose me :)
ReplyDeleteYes! Just recently I lost my keys playing golf. I put them in my golf bag and must not have zipped up the pocket. They went flying out somewhere on the course and I didn't even realize it until someone in a golf cart came driving up and asked me, "Do you have a white Jeep Wrangler?" How would they know that I thought...well, they found my keys lying in the grass and clicked the electronic unlocker thingy and my car beeped. I NEVER would have found them...I was so thankful that someone went to all that effort to find me!
ReplyDeleteOh no! Thank goodness for Super H!
ReplyDeleteI spend waaaaay too much time looking for stuff I've misplaced. Sometimes I find myself walking in circles. I don't think that is a good sign.
No. I rarely ever lose my keys. My husband on the other hand... :)
ReplyDeleteNo, I freak when my keys aren't in my pocket (like if I give them to somebody to go ahead and unlock the door while I grab groceries from the trunk) I'm in edge til I get them back. Now other aspects of my life include lost things on a daily basis.
ReplyDeleteThe worst thing I've lost is myself.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, I tend to be pretty good of keeping track of my belongings.
Whoops! That's a horrible thing to lose. I generally don't lose mine--always leave them in the same place or else I'd be in BIG trouble.
ReplyDeleteNever, but I lose plenty of other stuff.
