Question of the Day #249

Yesterday, for a BBQ, I fried up tortilla chips, smothered them with tomatoes, spicy beans, scallions, jalapenos, cheddar cheese and sour cream and baked it all up. I just discovered leftover ingredients. So, H and I are having nachos for breakfast.

What weird foods have you enjoyed as your first meal of the day?

xoxo,
Suzanne

  1. First of all, so jealous I missed the BBQ. I had the BF take pics for me....looked amazing.

I woke up this morning and attacked the guac I made last night.

  2. I can only think of 2 rather odd things I eat before noon. One is yogurt with crushed up pretzels. The other is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. But when you think about it, it's just one piece of toast with pb and one with j. um, untoasted.

  3. Once when my (now grown) kids were small my wife was feeding them breakfast bundles (pancake wrapped sausage on a stick). First bite revealed they were corn dogs. She wiped the syrup off the plates, plopped on some ketchup and declared "We're having corn dogs for breakfast."

  4. I'm such a huge fan of breakfast that I can't really stomach "non-breakfast" food before noon. But...just wondering - does beer count? Because back in the day...

  5. Hmmm...I think the weirdest foods that have started my mornings in the past have been cake, chocolate, pizza, and blood pudding. (not all at the same time)

  6. I (too often) sometimes have sweets for breakfast. But nothing too unusual...

  7. Not a huge breakfast person so I do eat weird things in the AM. In Asia almost every morning I had masaman curry with jasmine rice for breakfast. This morning I had a cheese sandwich with mustard and a diet coke. And no, I'm not pregnant.

  8. When I was in the Navy they would serve ground beef with tomatoes and onions over toast. I still like that. My favorite breakfast is cold pizza and coke.

  10. I hate to admit this, but after a rough night out nothing rights my system like chilidog from Pinks with a can of Coke.
