Question of the Day #259

"She gets that from me!" That phrase has been repeated a zillion times in the last 36 hours.

But in reality, it's hard to tell from whom my fairy goddaughter got what...yet.

I am lucky to have my Granny's beautiful Italian skin. I'm grateful that I inherited my mother's singing voice. I'm proud of the curly locks passed down from her mother.

What family traits have you inherited? And from whom?

xoxo,
Suzanne

  1. Great question. I do mostly resemble my mother: her blue eyes and slightly wavy hair and we have a similar build. My speaking voice sounds like hers, too. (but thank god not my singing voice! :)I inherited a sense of humor from both parents. My dad's is a dry sense of humor. My mom is a silly, laugh out loud humor. My personality is a good mix of both. The sensibility and conservative nature of my dad and the silliness and centered part of my mom.

  2. What an awesome question. I got my nose and lips from my dad, eyes from maternal grandfather, legs from my mom (thankfully), feet from my dad (un-thankfully)... facial expressions from my mom, sense of humor from dad and maternal grandpa, allergies from maternal grandmother. You name it, it came from somewhere.

  3. I got my singing voice, hairline and allergy to strawberries from my dad -- none particularly good things -- but I also got his normally mild mannered personality too.

  4. I think I look a lot like my paternal grandmother. I'm a good eater, which I get from my mom, but what I like to eat, my taste buds, I get from my dad.

  5. From my mom: the shape of my face and chin, my hands, my fortitude and common sense.

From my dad: my height, eyebrows, small feet, humour, and my love of nature.

  7. I have my father's hands, my mother's eyes, my grandma's stomach (from both sides!) my father's sense of adventure and my mother's logic.

  8. I got my fathers general attitude but my mother's short temper. What amazes me is watching my children. The youngest one does things that I did. Not common things, little particular things in the same way that I did them. He is constantly bringing up ideas that I had as a child. It is scary.

  9. My father reminded me that I have great cooking genes. Granny was the most amazing cook I've ever known. My father and brother also have great innate cooking skills. Hmm...

  10. I guess my sarcasm comes from my mom. I seem to have the same sense of humor she used to have.
