Question of the Day #240

The holiday weekend is here! Most people have today off, so I'm wondering how everyone will be celebrating.

Tonight, I will serve some food and drinks and then meet up with friends. And tomorrow, my friends, M & J, are hosting a Cuatro de Julio Fiesta. To which I say, "Bueno!"

What are you up to?

xoxo,
suzanne

  1. Yesterday I took the day off so I could fly out to Pennsylvania to spend the weekend with the wife. She's going to school in PA for the summer and this weekend is her one break. I'm taking her down to Gettysburg so that she can get away from everything school and enjoy the 4th. We're going to be checking out the history of the town and go on a ghost tour. I'm assuming there'll be some fireworks show and other events to entertain us. Best case there'll be a festival or something so we can sample all the local food (blood sausage anyone?) and get a feel for the town.

  4. First off, jealous of Allison going to the Red Sox game. Best 4th of mine was spent on the Cape, I miss that place. Oh well, going back for a three-day weekend next week.
Anyway, heading up to Montecito to spend the Fourth with good friends, wine, barbeque, tennis and the beach. Should be fun if all the Jacko Wackos stay off the freeways heading up to Neverland.
Have a happy and safe Fourth of July!

  5. We are usually at my inlaws vacation home with thirty relatives every Fourth of July weekend, but unfortunately due to mil's surgery and son's baseball schedule we are not this year! (And I'm missing it already!) So just a family weekend at home, but will go to a party tomorrow night to watch some cool fireworks!
    Have a great weekend, Suzanne!

  6. Up to going to the play "the King and I" tonight! always a great show at this local theater.
Tomorrow is a hope and a prayer that it doesn't rain. The fourth is really celebrated with that old fashioned twist here in VT. A very big parade, lots of food, tons of bands, exhibits and booths and the whole valley enjoying! Then off to the fireworks up the valley:) Rain rain go away........... some other day.

  8. We were supposed to be in New Hampshire but the rain drove us back to Boston a couple of days ago. Not sure about NH but the rain finally stopped and the sun has come out in Boston. We're just gonna stay here now though. We went to Plimoth Plantation today. No specific plans for tomorrow.

  9. I am OBSESSED with Competitive Eating, so tomorrow is a big, BIG day for us eating fans...

Every Fourth of July, my hubby and I always wake up to watch the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest (9 PST, 12 EST on ESPN). We've watched it "together" every year for the past five years, even over the phone when he was out of the country last year. AND we've met Kobayashi in Japan, Chestnut in California, and Berteletti in Chicago, who are the top 3 eaters in the world. See, I told you I was obsessed.

After hosting a small viewing of the eating contest at our house, we'll be enjoying the beautiful weather until we join Suzie at M&J's house for food and fireworks!
