Question of the Day #485

I should be embarassed. I live in LA. Tons of my friends work in the biz. I'm going to be in Hollywood tonight, just steps away from giant Oscars, the red carpet and the helicopters buzzing above. And I have only seen one film that was nominated this year: Up.

Pathetic. I know.

I'm betting you did far better than me. What films did you enjoy this year?

xoxo,
Suzanne

  1. You are one up on me! Anything I've seen in the past year is either 1-5 years old, or geared to small children. If I have spare time, I tend to pick up a book instead of watch a movie.

  2. I liked Avatar...not for the milatary piece though...I liked the planet, the natives and their philosophies...

  3. OMG I never see movies. But since my husband has been laid up on the couch because of surgery, we did watch Couples Retreat last weekend and are going to watch Up tonight. I never even saw Avatar this year... I am so behind the movies times I swear.

  7. The Blind Side...great movie and Sandra Bullock was amazing - truly the best role she's ever played.

  8. We saw UP last night. Have to say, I loved the talking dogs. Checked out DISTRICT 9 from the library but I'm kind of surprised it got a nom. Not the usual Academy fare.

  9. I have seen Up and Avatar. The Hurt Locker is playing at the $4 theater in town and I'm hoping to see it this weekend.

  10. I didn't even know Up was nominated! Ha! But I did see it and love it. My son and husband saw Avatar. Twice. They really liked that one. I may have seen others but I'm so out of it I don't even know which ones are nominated!

  11. I saw 7 out of the 10 nominees. Hubby and I try to see as many as we can before our big annual Oscar party. The ones we didn't get to beforehand we'll still try to see later.
