ReplyDeleteWatching the pink hues of the sky over the frosted trees welcome Christmas morning as the rest of the house slept. And then my little princess awoke with a big smile on her face as she fully believed that Santa had paid us a visit. And she was right. The look on her face as she learned by Santa's note that she was a good girl, I will never forget. ...and then her waking the household as she played with the drumkit he left made me realize what a kind and fun family I have. :)
Your christmas morning sounds beautiful. Mine was different... my sister (who was in the next room) kept texting me to wake up so we could start stuffing our faces with christmas goodies and so presents could begun to be torn open. Pretty typical actually.

ReplyDeleteIt was truly magical here today. Well, magical, nutty, loud, hectic, but all were smiling from ear to ear. I have a few great little people stories but honestly, my brain is too tired to think. Must sleep. A lot.

I was worried that Christmas morning would be a little dry now that my kids are 10 and 13. Plus we had nobody staying with us to amp up the excitement. But what I found was that it was very nice to have a bit less intensity about the Presents first thing in the morning. I was able to get a quick bite to eat, a half a cup of coffee, at a not-insane hour in the morning. Then presents. Very nice.
