Onions, garlic and the sweet tang of apple cider vinegar smothering pork wafts through my mom's house. I'm instantly transported to my grandmother's home.
The good china sparkles. Family snugs in around the table. Cousin Michael and I giggle through grace. The pork falls apart in my mouth.
Belly already full of tostones and suspiros, I'm distracted by the Charlie Brown tree my grandfather decorated. I wonder what's under it...
What meal sends you to holidays past?

mmmm...a nice roast turkey, the family stuffing, and scalloped potatoes.
