Question of the Day #1,166

There are a few things you can depend on in LA. Astonishing traffic, occasional earthquakes and a heatwave in January.

It's like Mother Nature plans this little pick-me-up. She ushers in the new year with reminders of sunshine, warm breezes and cool nights perfect for sleeping with the windows open. Metaphors for the new start before us, possibly even a do-over.

And a little hope.

January is my favorite in So. Cal. What's your favorite month where you live?

xoxo,
Suzanne

  1. Prob March. Nor cal is 10-20 degrees colder than so cal. Its only 55 today, like thats really cold considering I'm from the northeast. I like Oct. also up here.

  2. From NYC: April/May and September/October. I'm a big fan of the four seasons. When it first gets warm after the cold winter, or cool after a warm summer, that's the prefect time for me.

  3. October/November in Central Florida is usually pretty nice. We have sunshine and 80 deg temps but the humidity drops.

  4. I couldn't choose between May and October here in Ontario. In May we get a burst of fresh, warm air, flowers and leaves explode with their vibrant colours, and birds come back and sing their symphonies of love. While in October, the crisp chill air mingles with wood smoke, the skies are the most vibrant blue, the leaves look as though they are ablaze, and the harvest is bountiful. I feel truly blessed for the four seasons we get here.

  5. Umm, I'm still waiting for summer to settle in. We had one day that reached 40C (near 100F), but otherwise it fluctuates from warm to cool. No consistency! I'm too new here to pick a favorite month, although back in Texas it was OCTOBER. I love fall.

  6. I can't decide -- I've only lived in the mountains for a little over 5 years now, but I love all of the seasonal changes. I guess if I had to pick one, I'd say December. I love the snow along with the anticipation of Christmas.

I always loved Jan-Feb in SoCA, too.

  7. Toronto Ontario. I'd go with September. Or April/May. I hate the winter but the summer isn't amazing either, too hot! :P

  8. April/May--I'm a huge fan of spring in Wisconsin!

  9. Mine is September. It's still warm in Oregon, the kids are in school and the tourists are mostly gone and its that month to appreciate the weather knowing that after October it won't be back until July.

  10. NJ - May is amazing when spring fever hits, but July is even better and September might be even better than that. Definitely not January although it is in the 50s again today!! In NJ we spend most of January escaping to ski near E's in Vermont!

    Enjoy SoCal weather!
