Question of the Day #1,110

I just got a renewal notice for a subscription to a cooking magazine my mom bought me. It's the only magazine I subscribe to. Which made me think about how years ago, seeing an issue of Seventeen in the mailbox was thrilling. And in my 20's, receiving that fresh copy of Jane was a treat to savor.

But now, I wonder if people subscribe to magazines that much anymore. Do you?

xoxo,
Suzanne

  1. Nope. I was getting surfing magazines for research and because a friend subscribed for me when a kid came selling at her door (I think a lot of people buy for kids' money-raising trips or whatever). While I was at the hair salon I flipped through Vogue--gorgeous clothes and people and sooooooo many ads--a quick flip and I'm done.

  2. I used to subscribe to Keyboard and Mix. I had 20 years worth stored until I finally threw them out. Maybe I kept a small number of essential issues. I can't be bothered anymore.

  3. You know, I still totally do! And a lot of them too--Lucky, InStyle, Time magazine, Cooking Light, Time Out NY, and Woman's Day. I think that's it, LOL. Like your friend Tricia says, I've gotten and/or renewed them through fund-raising efforts for my niece and nephew's school. Although I don't actually read them cover to cover, I enjoy flipping through them and there's always something of value I take away. I don't save any of them except for the cooking mags, but I often clip articles or little tidbits and paste them into a notebook. IDK, I just enjoy it--holdover from my younger years, maybe. Also, as a city dweller, they're great to carry with you for quick reading at the park or on the train. :)

  4. Yes!! It's a guilty pleasure! Something about those glossy pages arriving in my mailbox is thrilling!

I used to get People but couldn't keep up with a weekly magazine, so now I just get my monthlies: Cooking Light, Food Network magazine, Food & Wine, Travel & Leisure, and most recently ---- Parents!

  6. I got Seventeen for a couple years. I don't get magazines anymore though. I'm not sure what magazine I would get though.
