With humor. Start with an observation about something going on that seems funny. If I laugh, we can continue the conversation. If I give you a blank stare, walk away.
Since I've been married for 26 years this is just about out of the realm of imaginary possibility! But it would have to be with humor. A good play on words that would let me know my mind is sharp.
You're getting very clever with these questions! I think I prefer to have a conversation that's really about something and find that the person has something to say that holds my interest. And I agree that a sense of humor that is genuine, not forced, is appealing.
What a great question...I don't even know if I could answer that without scrolling up to see how others have answered it. I definitely need someone to match me with wit/sarcasm, because I can be sarcastic. And sense of humour works, too. But, er, good old fashioned making me swoon is effective. Especially if you look like Ian Somerhalder. Hell, if you ARE Ian Somerhalder, you don't have to do anything at all.
This is a fun question. I can tell you how NOT to pick me up, hah. But how to pick me up. Considering it has very rarely worked ... hmm! Be interested in me, and not just my looks! Ughh. Compliments, but not overwhelming. Asking about my interests. Actually caring about things like my job, my friends, my pets. Joking, but not all joking (I like to be a bit serious so I can find out more about the person). And not coming off too sexual to begin with!

ReplyDeleteJust by talking and being friendly but genuine. : )
ReplyDeleteI agree with Sunshine. Humor works for me too. I also prefer women smarter than me. The rest I'll keep to myself, thank you.

ReplyDeleteUsed to be I'd listen to complements on my looks, but now I'd require a complement on my brain.

ReplyDeleteThis is way too hard. I'm not sure if I would.
