Yesterday, at the beach, the winds whipped through the palm trees, dusted up sand and blew it through the screens into the house. Rain smattered the windows as I made tomato soup.
When the girls arrived, I tossed a salad and made grilled cheese sandwiches. We drank red wine with our child like meal and discussed adult matters.

Amidst all that serious stuff, we laughed. And when they got up to leave, I felt thankful. Not just for good friends, but for the ability to laugh at chaos.
Last night was my favorite kind of night. Good friends, good food, good wine, good conversation.
What does your favorite kind of night look like?

Suzanne
My favorite night is my three kids and hubby playing cards then snuggling in for a movie together. But I also appreciate nights out with the girls for the giggles and a change of pace.
ReplyDeleteExactly the same as your night. Me with a group of girls eating grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup, two of my favorites. Hopefully you could accomodate me with a nice micro brew, I love Green Flash Imperial I.P.A. for future referance.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a winner to me.
ReplyDeleteI'm with your idea of fun. Good friends, good food, good conversation. Laughing at chaos. And laughing when there's nothing left to lose.
ReplyDeleteHere, here my dear! Followed by 10 hours of sleep.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great night, Suzanne!
