Question of the Day #460

Today is B's birthday! B-DAY! As I like to call it.

"How would you like to celebrate your birthday?" I asked a week or two ago.

"I don't know," said B.

"Would you like to go out for a birthday dinner? Or would you like to stay in?"

"Let's stay in," he replied.

"Okay. What would you like for your birthday dinner? Do you want delicious mac and cheese or those yummy lamb chops or..."

"Short ribs," he said.

"Short ribs?" I confirmed.

"Yes, short ribs." B drummed in the seriousness of the decision with several head nods.

"All right then. We'll have birthday short ribs," I said.

The man obviously knows what he wants. So I'm about to head to the supermarket so I can begin slow cooking short rib birthday perfection.

If it were your birthday, what would you want for dinner?

xoxo,
Suzanne

  1. Bday dinner - I would definitely go out because I just looovvveeee restaurants. Valentines Day is the only occassion I do like to stay in and cook together. But for dinner I would want crab legs.

Wow that's great that B knows exactly what he wants! It can be very frustrating when you say, "what do you want to eat" and the other person says "I don't know, what do you want?" And that conversation goes on for like 15 minutes. Haha.

  2. Happy Birthday B! I need to hit to gym, so no big dinners for me....Although there is a chain out there called Lucille's BBQ that started in Long Beach (Signal Hill) that I like....

  3. When I was growing up, Mom would always make us whatever we wanted for our birthday dinners. Almost every household birthday was celebrated with Mom's spaghetti dinner. Spaghetti is still my favorite birthday meal, and often my own kids want me to make it for their birthday dinners as well.
