Question of the Day #173

Saturday night, LDZ and I went to the LBC to meet up with some old friends of hers. One of them was staying at a craftsman bungalow, very much like Mansfield, where we used to live. After going out, we went back to the house, sat by the pool and played Questions until it was too late to keep our eyes open.

It was like we were 23 all over again.

While we talked about how tough it's been for some of us to find work, R said, "If things get bad enough, I'll just move to some tiny island, take people diving and enjoy the sun and the ocean. I call it my 'escape plan.'"

"Wow," I said. "An escape plan? That's a good idea."

"You need to get one," he said.

"Yeah, I do," I agreed.

What's your escape plan?

xoxo,
Suzanne

  1. Any of the great, high mountains in the US. I would commune with nature and live off the land.

  2. My husband's family owns lots of land near the Mississippi River. His "escape plan" is to move out there and live off the land!

  3. Hmm, I guess if I had to live off the land, we're living in the right place for that. Technically, if things got bad enough, I'd probably have to look for an outside job if I could find one. And somehow, still manage to teach my kids at home.

  6. I have different outs for different levels of crisis. Living in Mexico and working in the U.S. would be my first out.

  7. Sell or rent the house and move out of state. Barring that, move in with my in-laws.

  8. Worst case scenario - my in-laws basement in Boston.

  9. Well, it's not actually an escape plan. But, I guess we could accelerate it, if anything happens. I sure don't hope so! Me and my husband have been talking about early retirement, living in a village with a lot of greenery, while running our own business. That would be nice :). I'm not hosting Music Monday, Suzanne. 10. I suppose if things were REALLY bad, we'd go to my parents' house, but I really wouldn't want to stay too long. You know how that is...

Hey, if you know anything about registering a domain name or setting up a website, pop over to my blog and fill us in. Thanks.

  11. If things get too bad I am going to sell everything and move onto a boat. That's my plan but my family says they won't be coming with me. Whatever.

  12. An escape NOW would be meditation. An escape I can plan a bit would be travel.
