First I would go to Dunkin Donuts and get a medium iced french vanilla with skim and 2 equals. Then I'd go to my favorite garden store, then come home and garden all day long. Tomorrow looks like a great day for hooky!
I would get in the car and just drive until I found some place I wanted to be for a while and hole up for a few days. This would have to be WITHOUT my puppy because she's so demanding; it would have to be WITH my Kindle and the three new books I just downloaded and can't wait to read!
Great question! What wouldn't I do is a better question for me! Probably go shopping and then have a great meal on a patio, so I could eat and suntan at the same time.
I would go to Deveux banks which is a small island just off the coast from Seabrook SC. Because it is midweek I might have the entire island all to myself. I would just sit there and sunbathe and drift away.
Would I be playing hooky from my kids or with them? I guess either way I might choose Malibu but only with the kids if I could trick another adult into going with us.
Did it! Technically I'm still working, but took an afternoon break to take the fam to Barton Springs pool in Austin. Then grabbed some Starbucks before getting back to work. :)
The Safari Garden Hotel & Restaurant is one of my favorite places to go hooky! They have fresh air, comfortable rooms to relax, a swimming pool, tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, ping pong tables, mini golf, fitness center, sauna, karaoke, billiard pool, playing grounds, bird park, fishing pool, bicycles, and plenty of space for great outdoor activities. I love this place! It's the perfect choice for every family member. At least I think it is :).
I'd hit the gym in the morning, followed by a trip to the spa for a few treatments and lots of time in the "quiet" room. I'd top off the day with a margarita or two at a bar on the beach. Aaaah. Then the next day I'd lie on the beach and...oh, wait, can I have more than 1 day?
Good question! Well, today was rainy, so I'd have to stay indoors. I'd probably sleep in, read in bed for a while, catch up on reading blogs, read some more, watch a movie...That sort of thing. Not exciting, but I am in need of a peaceful day, since things have been so hectic lately!
If I could include teleportation into my hooky day I'd transport Lucy and myself to Santa Barbara in the hopes of catching an art festival and then head to Malibu for some fun in the sand and seagul feeding.
I'm a bit late but if I were to play hookie today to be completely honest I would go back home, turn up the heated blanket and snuggle inside my 14 blanket haven that is my bed and read one of the 6 books I've started with the sound of my cat purring on top of the mass of blankets as background noise. It's snowing today so this sounds soooooo goooooooood!!!! You make me want to play hookie =(
I would go to Italy. But that would probably take more than a day. ;D

ReplyDeleteI'd just like to send everyone away for the day and have the house to myself. Is that bad?

ReplyDeleteI'd go to that little collection of villages where Susan Boyle lives and hope she was singing karaoke that night. ;-)
