Question of the Day #517

Ooo. You guys gave some awesome one hit wonder answers. And a lot of them seemed to be from the 80's and 90's, so that made me curious.

What was your favorite band when you were growing up?

Mine was U2. My mother loved it when I wrote the words to "Bad" on my bedroom wall.

Suzanne

  1. Mine changed as I grew. In jr. high it was Duran Duran. In high school, they were Def Leppard, Winger, and Guns n Roses!
(I did have a few U2 cassette tapes. U2 is still great!)

  2. I never had a true favorite, and still don't. Madonna, Bryan Adams, Glass Tiger, INXS, and Erasure were listened to quite a bit.

  3. I didn't really have a favorite band. I loved U2. They were definitely up at the top of my list. I also liked Guns n Roses, Motley Crue, Aerosmith. I can tell you who my all time favorite musician was back then and still is now, Billy Joel. I know, he doesn't quite fit with the bands I liked, but the man is so dang talented. I preferred his older stuff (pre-Christie Brinkley).

  4. I didn't have a favorite band either and this goes over a long period of time. The "favoriteness" depends upon the time and where you are at that time. It always boils down to timing.
    No?

  5. Like Kelly, I was crazy for Duran Duran in Jr. High and loved Def Leppard in highschool. And I agree with Evelyn (every smart woman should, right?) that it comes to timing. Pear Jam, Dave Matthews Band, Cold Play, Foo Fighters have pretty much been steady favs for the "grown up" years. :)

  6. I loved Madonna and Prince, then fell in love with Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Guns n Roses. Oh and don't forget New Kids on the Block! And Tiffany!

To this day Bon Jovi is one of my favorites. :)
