Question of the Day #516

After our delicious feast last night, H put on a music video channel (I didn't even know there still was a channel that played videos.) and a One Hit Wonder show came on.

This prompted Stahcie and K to do the running man during Marky Mark's "Good Vibrations." Everyone joined in for a dramatic sing along to Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart." And K's hilarious Lisa Loeb impersonation, glasses and all, during "Stay" produced mass howling.

Who knew One Hit Wonders could be so entertaining?

I waited, unrequited, for my fave, T'Pau's "Heart and Soul." When I hear that song, I'm instantly 15, belting that song out in front of my mirror.

What's your favorite One Hit Wonder?

  1. "Low" by Cracker

    Close second...."Beds are Burning"
Can't remember the artist but the song is a winner.

  2. Lots to choose from...I just remembered Romeo's Tune by Steve Forbert.

  3. Somehow I knew this would be your question today! Well... obviously Lisa Loeb's "Stay," especially after last night. :) But then again, anytime a song came on during the show, IT then became my new favorite. One Hit Wonders seem to drudge up vivid memories for everyone!

  4. "For What It's Worth" Buffalo Springfield

  5. Daniel Powter- Bad Day. And for the record, "Stay" shouldn't count as a one-hit wonder! Lisa Loeb has a bunch of good songs!

  6. Ahhh, fun songs!
    Some of my nostalic faves:
She Blinded Me with Science by Thomas Dolby (totally junior high memories)
Tainted Love by Soft Cell - great dance song
I'm Too Sexy and BAby Got Back reminds me of college days!

  7. This one is way before your time but we used to stump the DJ's with it. I am not sure how to even spell it but it is by The Tea Set and I think it is My Bella Mi. I think it may even be before my time but I still like it.

  8. I wanna know what love is!!!!! I want you to show me!! .............:)
How come they don't have a musical note icon on a keyboard?

  9. C'est La Vie by Robbie Nevil!

  10. We're Not Gonna Take It by Twisted Sister

  11. Oh, there are so many! I have a few of these CDs and there are tons listed on iTunes. I like so many that I couldn't list just one.
