Question of the Day #614

My friend from high school, J, was one of our class officers, so she's working hard at organizing our 20th reunion. She and her team are contacting classmates through Facebook, gathering old pictures and artifacts and working on pulling it all together.

I'm excited to attend and reconnect with old friends.

How do you feel about high school reunions? Will you go? Have you gone?

xoxo,
Suzanne

  1. I went to the ten-year and figured out I just really don't enjoy them. High school wasn't that good a time for me...and I don't really have an interest in hanging out with those people. The popular people are the ones who show up, mostly, and I just always end up feeling like I did in high school...not quite good enough.

  2. I went to my 20-year two years ago. (yeah, I'm giving away my age). It was fun, but in all honesty, I already keep in touch with those I care about. I saw some people I hadn't seen in years, but it really wasn't all that exciting. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but it wasn't what I'd built it up to be. I really hope you have a great time at yours!

  3. i went to my 20th reunion two months ago. it was fun to see everyone. i'm glad i did. old fears resurfaced, but not for long at all. it was a great opportunity to honor my past and i'm glad i was there-- for the entire 8 hours!:)

  4. Went to my 45th year before last. It was fun to see some people, but reality is reality.
If you were friends then, you gravitated to those people now. Not as much fun as I thought. But it was great being with my best girls again, even if it was for just a couple of days.Didn't recognise many of them. But there were some who hadn't changed a minute!!

  5. I went to my 5th and skipped my 10th. I'm not anti, but I don't even have enough time to see the friends I want to see so I don't go out of my way to make it to reunions. They are always Thanksgiving weekend, and I always go on vacation starting the day after Thanksgiving...
    See you soon! :-D

  6. Eh. My 20th is this year as well. I could take it or leave it.

  7. Somehow I never had the desire to go to reunions. A lot of my HS friends were younger or older. Stephanie commented it was the popular people who came--I was math club president. Does that qualify as "popular". Strangely, math club secretary from the same year is a published SCBWI author. Our "reunion" was an SCBWI meeting.

  8. I was surprised how fun my 20th was, a couple of years ago. The 10-year wasn't nearly as interesting. Recognizing people was tough, though--we all look like grownups now.

  9. I've never gone and probably never will. Hell, I barely even WENT to school to begin with.
