Yeah, my mom's best friend. I know she wasn't around when I was real little because my mom told me, but I don't remember a time when I didn't know her.
I can't say I don't remember a time when I didn't know some of the big players in my life. But that's because I distinctly remember, no matter my age, the day that they walked into my life. Whether it was my cousin snacking with me at the food table when I was five or my best guy friend that I met during field day when we were eight. The moments I met them just stuck with me.
My husband. Which may sound cheesy, but we dated when we were 13 and 15 - then were separated for 20 years, and married last year after dating 6 months. In some ways, it was as though nothing changed, like I'd known him all my life even though we'd been apart. Now I can't remember what life was like without him.
What a great question! That would have to be my best friend, Michele, who I met in second grade. She lives 2,000 miles away now, but when we get back together, it's as if no time has passed. It's a truly special friendship.
My favorite cousin, whom you also know quite well, but I've known him longer. He and I are just a month apart in age and played together as little kids. Later in college we spent a lot of time together. He's just the best!

ReplyDeleteMy husband. Someone asked him the other day how long we'd been together and he casually said, "About a hundred years or so." Yep.
