There's a tornado watch in central Florida. So the shuttle won't be able to land here. I'm pretty bummed about missing my tentative once in a lifer. But I'm also hoping I don't experience a tornado. (That's a once in a lifer I'd like to avoid.)
I'm going to make a segue now so we don't dedicate another post to natural disasters.
Anyhoo, on to other things. Like food. It's Sunday morning and oh, how I enjoy a good Sunday breakfast. I'm a traditional girl (Well, half of me is. The other half deems me a walking contradiction.) so my fave Sunday feast is two eggs over medium, hash browns (Always shredded. None of those lame mushy breakfast potatoes for me.) and delicious, crisp bacon.
Although, I do have a friend who makes a mean bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and somehow manages to scramble all the gooey bacony cheesy goodness inside the eggs. When you bite into it, it explodes decadence. So, I've kind of been cheating on tradition lately. (See what I mean about being a walking contradiction?)
So what's your favorite Sunday breakfast?
xoxo,
Suzanne
Anything my wife wants to cook. It's always yummy!
ReplyDeleteSorry you missed out on the shuttle.
Smoked salmon (pacific coho) with cream cheese, red onion, and capers on a multigrain bagel. Served with a side of fresh melon and berries...and a big cup o' coffee!!
ReplyDeleteSpinach and feta omelet, from any greasy diner that will serve it! I have probably sampled every version of this delicacy in all of eastern MA. Has to come with homefries, liberally buttered rye toast (preferably seeded) and YES - the bottomless mug of coffee. Doesn't matter if the coffee is good or bad, as long as it arrives in one of those fat, white ceramic mugs.
ReplyDeleteOh, man. I am drooling now.
I'm "traditional" too - well, traditional Dirty Jer-Z. I want a taylor ham, egg & cheese on a bagel. Suz, I know you're soooo craving one!!
ReplyDeleteWould have to agree with taylor ham, egg and cheese on keiser roll with s/p/k. Also willing, able and ready to enjoy Cracker Barrel on any given Sunday ... biscuits and gravy anyone!
ReplyDeleteOoooo, I love this question! I have a few favorite Sunday breakfasts ... depending on the Saturday night. I love the two eggs over medium with hash browns, bacon and sourdough toast with butter. I also love eggs benedict. Crabcakes benedict is a dream come true. Sometimes nothing is better than a fat breakfast burrito with spinach, sausage, lots of cheese and spicy salsa. All with a cool crisp fountain Diet Coke. By the way, I NEED to try this gooey bacony cheesy egg sandwich.
ReplyDeleteOkay--I just ate, am totally full, and reading through all these posts is making me hungry again. Anyway, one of my favorite Sunday breakfasts is a Bagel Nosh bagel with cream cheese and a big glass of fresh-squeezed OJ.
