Question of the Day #20

Yesterday's question certainly revealed some interesting information. We've got a fantasy shoe designer/forensic obsessive, a chef, mom/architect, a couple serious do gooders, the Supreme Ruler of the Universe and a whole lotta singers and/or rock stars.

Which of course, begs the obvious question - who's your favorite rock star?

Mine is Bono. It all began the first time I heard The Unforgettable Fire and wrote the lyrics to "Bad" all over my bedroom wall.

Mom loved it.

Suzanne
PS - Regarding Lisa D's question about why we don't have a female Santana yet, I must say I have no idea and I think she should get on it.

  1. Hm. That's a toughie. I listened to Mom's 45's when I was a kid and really didn't get into music much. Oddly enough, I remember a lot of the lyrics from that time.

I think Chuck Berry would have to be my favorite. So many of his songs went on to be covered by others in later years and they got the credit for them. But he had a fantastic style all his own and his songs were eminently singable.

  2. Robert Plant is my favorite rock star. He just oozed rock star sexiness.

  3. Hmmm, I would have to say it's between Joe Strummer of The Clash and Buck Owens (yes, of Hee Haw).

Saw The Clash when I was 16, life is good.

Buck may not be a rock star to some, but I saw him twice at the House of Booze on Sunset and he ROCKED!! That voice!!

  4. I would marry Dave Grohl if he asked.

  5. I like songwriters: Eddie Vedder, Neil Young, Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks (mention one and you have to mention the other), Annie Lennox (new one after the AMAs) and on and on...
I guess my favorite is, oh, I just can't pick one!
