I'm dying to go on a road trip.
My roommate just went to Big Sur, which reminded me that it's been about three years since I've driven the PCH along those cliffs. I used to go at least once a year. But now I have to work, so I don't have the time. And during the last few years, I didn't have the money.
A little road trip, top down, music blasting might do me some good. Even if I only get as far as Santa Barbara or Los Olivos. A desert drive out to Vegas is always tempting too. Or a ride through the mountains, just up the 2, might sate the urge.
If you were to take a road trip, where would you go?

Suzanne
Actually yesterday my family drove to Chicago and on the way home we took the scenic route along Lake Michigan. It took much longer, but better than sitting in traffic and much better view!
ReplyDeleteFrom NJ to San Fran, the long way. I'd want to go along the east coast from NJ to FL, then head west over to Cali, and north up to San Fran. This would of course include several stops along the way (including LA :-)).
ReplyDeleteNorth up to Big Sur again. Breathtaking and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYosemite - never been - some day i suppose!
ReplyDeleteI'm in the mood to just drive and see where I end up.
ReplyDeleteJust had a great road trip to Ottawa ;)
ReplyDeleteActually the trip both ways was much more challenging than usual! Tons of traffic going North trying to avoid flooded areas and flood detours coming South when we had thought all was clear! Nothing like the mighty Mississippi , but Lake Champlain was well over it's banks. CrAZy!!
BUT well worth the rides to enjoy family and our S K!!!
Sounds like fun, Suzanne. I hope you can get out. I miss driving on PCH. If we were to go anywhere right now, I'd pick Grand Teton NP. It's about 10 hours south of here. That sure beats the 3 days it used to take us from CA. We'll be driving to Billings in August to take our daughter to college, but that's a little different. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteWe're taking one in June to North Carolina and I'm VERY excited. My fantasy trip is to travel the old Silk Road, however. More dangerous, notsokidfriendly.
ReplyDeleteYou know what I hear is pretty cool? Renting a campervan and driving around New Zealand. Not exactly practical from where I'm at right now, but certainly on the wish list. And definitely not impossible.
ReplyDeleteI love roadtrips! I hope you get to squeeze in one soon. You've got the perfect ride! Maybe Ojai?
To LA to see you!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIm headed from nj to vermont and nh in a couple of weeks...
