Question of the Day #385

My coupons are clipped. My list is complete. I'm heading to the supermarket to buy the ingredients for Suzie Foods Thanksgiving treats. I'm very thankful for all the customers who don't know how or want to cook.

Who cooks your Thanksgiving dinner?

Suzanne

  1. I do. In fact, that's what I should be doing right now.
    Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  2. Usually we have it here, my hubby cooks the turkey, I do a few sides, and other family brings sides/desserts.
But for the first year in a long time it is somewhere else and I'm making corn casserole, shrimp dip and my hubby is making gizzards.
    Happy Thanksgiving!!!

  3. Not me! I can't cook. We are off to the bay to my wife's family in Marin. Have a great Thanksgiving all...

  4. Thank the Lawd for all those good women out there who host Thanksgiving (and the good men who rise to the occasion). I'm still mostly a helper at this point in my life. And for that I'm very thankful. Happy Chowing!

  5. Whoever I can get to do it, truly. I'll go anywhere rather than do this meal myself.

  6. Happy Thanksgiving American neigbours!! :)

I love cooking Thanksgiving dinner. Although, over the years, I've migrated to more non-traditional meats. This year we had roast beef and all the veggies came from our garden. It's all about good food, good drink, family, and giving thanks.

    Cheers!

  7. Anyone but me! I am more than happy to bring a few side dishes, maybe a dessert or two, but having a bunch o' people depending on me for an entire Thanksgiving dinner? Eeesh. I'm not sure I'm competent enough in the kitchen.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day!

  8. Both Rick & I cook it now that we're here. When we were in CA, most of the time we went to my IL's house and they did most of it.

  9. We tend to be all over the place for Thanksgiving - last year, Florida... the year before was Detroit... the year before that, Cali... then Ohio... and who knows where before that. But this year, we were at home and hosted our first official Thanksgiving feast with two dear friends and their one month old baby girl.

I roasted our 14 pound turkey (which was brined overnight and nicknamed "Bessy"). I also prepared homemade gravy, cheesy baked mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, cranberry sauce, stuffed mushrooms, and salad.

My friend made her famous sweet potato casserole, asparagus with pancetta, beer bread (yes, you heard that right), and homemade cheesecake with strawberries.

We ate (and drank) like kings and queens... a beautiful Thanksgiving!!
