Question of the Day #380

I'm getting my stitches out this morning. I didn't blog about getting them because it was far too gross, but I had a lump on my arm and the doctor cut it open, scooped goo out and then stitched it up.

I know, super gross.

Anyway, the stitches are nylon. Kinda like fishing wire and she stitched them in with something that kinda looked like a fishing hook. I'd never seen anything like it. And it was really cool to watch her stick that thing in my arm and not feel a thing. (Yay anesthetics!)

Have you ever had stitches? Why?

xoxo,
Suzanne

  1. Only after having my wisdom teeth out. That was the only time, knock on wood.

  5. Nope. Not a stitch. Knock wood. Oh wait. I have 3 kids. And there were stitches.

I just started seeing a Spine Specialist due to my childhood scoliosis...um, La Lady Lurkelle...I'm scared.

  6. They used durabond (like a clear sealant) on my son when he had his stitches for a bad cut last summer. No, I have never had stitches.

  7. Yes - lots of them. Probably about 200 total for various reasons...split forehead open as a toddler and then split it open again the day the original stitches were to be removed...several surgeries on my mouth...accidentally put my arm through a pane of glass in a door...oh, and my c-section was good for about 60.

  9. Yes, many times. Two foot surgeries, after getting wisdom teeth out, having babies, and once to have a cyst removed. Was that was you had done recently?

  10. Hi Rena! It wa just a gross cyst. Totally benign - to my delight. I saw a sick video on youtube a couple months ago showing something similar. Weird, icky, fascinating stuff. ;) Sounds like you've had your own crazy stitch stories. Yikes!
