Question of the Day #315

Now that we have African safaris on the brain, I must ask, what's the coolest place you've ever been?

I haven't been anywhere too interesting, but B and I once took a helicopter ride (which surprisingly terrified me) over the Hawaiian islands. Swooping around waterfalls and hovering through Jurassic canyons was amazing.

Suzanne

  2. I LOVED that helicopter ride! So fun!..actually I think I just got the feeling back in my hand. Hawaii was AMAZING! :)

It's hard to pick just one place - I've been to some really great spots...the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Northern Ireland, various spots in Mexico. I loved them all but I have to say that Maui is heaven on earth for me.

  3. Can't pick just one! and I hope to explore and experience as many as I can!
I think Bora Bora was actually one of mine too.
Sailing toward it, the island became more and more defined and finally like an ancient cathedral in ruins. Incredibly romantic.
China had the most friendly people:) Etc.

  4. Hawaii is very interesting!

I took a helicopter ride to the top of a glacier in Alaska. It was so beautiful. Many of the islands in the Caribbean were so gorgeous as well.

  5. Believe it or not it was when I was in the Navy. We went under the ice and a pod of wales was swimming alongside us. You could feel the vibrations from the sounds they were making. I doubt I will ever be able to top that.

  7. Hands down,Sydney, Australia for my 30th birthday. Climbing the Sydney Bridge when I am so afraid of heights was the best thing I've ever done. Every time I see a picture of that bridge behind the Sydney Opera House it makes me proud. Good times.

  9. National Parks are my "thing" I guess and not one of them ever failed to disappoint me. Grand Teton is an amazing place.

I visited some castles in England that were pretty cool too.
