The Christmas cards are rolling in. Cute pictures of my friends, their kids and their families. Beach scenes, shots from Disneyland and other family vacations.
I like getting Christmas cards. I like that people take time to have them made or write them out and actually stamp them and drop them in the mail. I like getting something other bills in the mailbox. I like that Christmas cards are a tradition technology has yet to squash.
Do you send holiday cards? If so, what kind?

Suzanne
I used to--the photo kind. Then I didn't send them out in 2009. Or 2010. And now it's 2011, and I don't really have a picture of all of us together I'd be willing to let everyone see. Maybe in 2012?
ReplyDeleteI only send out about five or so to family back east nothing exciting or heart warming. I mostly call them on the phone and have a conversation.
ReplyDeleteI went from sending over 100, down to about 25. Last year I think we only got 10 or 15. Because we have moved away from family and friends almost all of mine have a personal note or letter included.
ReplyDeleteYes, and this year more than last to help support our best-in-the-world postal service. I like real cards with real messages and real signatures. I don't like cards that are just a family picture engraved with names and no personal message. Don't send me those. Picture is OK but take the time to sign it. That's my pet peeve
ReplyDeleteI do--a photo with a letter. Every year I write a different type of letter. One year it was a 1-act play. This year it was a mock up on a Facebook page.
ReplyDeleteExpect my Christmas card a few days after Christmas. Oops.
ReplyDeleteMy friends don't really send Christmas cards. But there's this group that I'm in, and about 10 of us all decided to exchange Christmas cards this year! So I've gotten a few already and they are just so cute! I love them :)
ReplyDeleteI do still send them - usually a lightly funny card with a newsletter. But I make the newsletter only four short paragraphs and pictures. We get far less cards than we used to, and I find it sort of sad. Even if it was just a picture of the family, I liked that little bit of connection.
