As you know by the last 100 or so Questions, I had a crazy Summer. I took seven trips, hosted six different guests, ate way too much late night mac and cheese and ice cream, had a few too many cocktails and got nowhere near enough sleep or exercise.
This week, I shifted gears. No more food at night. I halved my serving sizes, chucked the remaining ice cream and cookies, started my week with a two hour hike and have walked every day since. I've been in bed by 10:00 PM each night and already, I feel better.
Summer is over. It's time to focus on work and everything else in moderation.
Do ever you finding yourself shifting gears? If so, how?
xoxo,
Suzanne
Ah, fall is a major shift--from barefoot to socks, from lax and lazing in the pool to running kids to school and activities. I'm getting some discipline, but not gracefully!
ReplyDeleteSame here - the summer is a free for all and the fall makes us get ourselves back on track (or pay for our sins LOL).
ReplyDeleteHaving a baby has made me shift gears quite a bit. Instead of the swank dinner we were supposed to have tonight to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we will now be home with our tiny little baby and some takeout - and I wouldn't have it any other way. This shifting of gears is an awesome and welcome one. :-)
Since I got a job since summer ended, I have definitely been "shifting gears". I have been working a lot more (working my old part time job plus new part time job) and I have another project on the way as well. I am trying to get more exercise (although that never seems to work). *sigh* I need to get some exercise machine or something.
