A few months ago, I treated myself to new cookware. Metal handled, overproof, dishwasher safe, hard anonized (for perfect heat distribution) cookware.
I cook. A lot. For myself. For friends. For clients. So, this major purchase was a major purchase, not just monitarily, but emotionally.
I'm so excited about my new cookware that I'm almost eager for the rainy season so I can braise some short ribs in my amazing new dutch oven.
New cookware is the biggest treat I could possibly give myself. What is the biggest treat you could give yourself?

Suzanne
I'm wishing for a new sewing machine. Mine is 32 years old and not really functioning.
ReplyDeleteI dream about making curtains and shirts and cute handbags and quilts.
LASIK.
ReplyDeleteA storefront for my own business... some day I hope and pray and dream!
ReplyDeleteRain. A long slow soaking rain would be a real treat. I go out at dance naked on the lawn.
ReplyDeleteMy recent trip to CA was a big, lovely and much needed gift to me. I also recently bought myself a piece of fine jewelry - a "mother's" ring with my daughter's birthstone in a beautiful setting. It's something I've wanted for a really long time & will pass it on to my sweet girl when she has a child of her own.
ReplyDeleteTravel. I'm planning on going to New York again at the end of January for the SCBWI conference. Even with the terrible weather, going last year was amazing. With all the demands of regular life, putting that time back into my own mental health felt so valuable.
ReplyDeleteOh that's exciting! Aha :)
ReplyDeleteBiggest treat? Maybe a new laptop. I would love that. This one is going downhill and I don't have the money for a new one :( :(
New living room furniture.
ReplyDeleteBooks is one -- there are way more books I'd love to read, but just don't have the money.
ReplyDeleteI'd also love a Tempur-Pedic mattress. Now THAT would be a major treat.
