Grumbles sounded in the room as Madonna danced through her half-time show. A couple partygoers heckled.
"30 something years ago, that woman arrived in Times Square with $35 and a dream. Look at her now. I don't care who you are, nobody has the right to bash that woman," I said.
"You're right. She's pretty amazing. She's in her 50's, isn't she?" C asked.
The girls on the couch turned and glanced at us. The room quieted.
What did you think of Madonna's half-time show?

I loved it. It was weird watching it with my Stepdaughter, who wasn't as impressed. But I've always had a soft spot for Madonna, and continue to be in awe of her - she's amazing. Talented. And a brilliant, brilliant marketer!
ReplyDeleteI missed it completely but would've liked to see what she's like nowadays. Youtube, I'm on my way...
ReplyDeleteWhoa, I just watched it, and I have to say that as far as half-time shows go, I am impressed! That stage was awesome! The lighting and special effects all put together was far out! And Madonna's songs are timeless, so how can you not love it? I thought the whole thing was visually more pleasing and coherent than anything I've seen in a long time from the Super Bowl. Better than a bunch of hip-hop meets pop meets aging rockers just jumping around on stage. This felt like an artistic production. Thumbs up.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was one of the best half-time shows in a while!!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I never cared much for her music, I have a lot of respect for what she has accomplished. (She was born in 1958 which makes her about 54!) I think she paved the way for the likes of Lady GaGa. However, the half-time show seems to me to be all about razzle-dazzle. Who, in the stadium, could possible pick HER out from among all those other people? It was quite a show, but I would very much like to see more subtle and intimate performances.
ReplyDeleteI loved it! The Superbowl halftime show is possibly THE most scrutinized performance there is & I thought Madonna did an awesome job bringing back the glitz & glamour that most people seem to want.
ReplyDeleteI loved Madonna and her show. It was the right razzle-dazzle for the Super Bowl Game without being a difficult situation for a family night.
ReplyDeleteOne of the best half time shows EVER.
ReplyDeleteI want to be like Madonna at 53 and Betty White at 90.
ReplyDeleteHalf time show gets a thumbs up from me!
I didn't see it. Am I the only person who didn't watch the Superbowl or any part of it? aha
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not boring! Kind of odd in spots, but that's what I love about Madonna--she always keeps us guessing what's next. : )
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch it.
